This is a really nice portable recordplayer! Fueled by 6 large 1.5 Volt D-cell batteries you can take this to any beachparty on a sunny day. And when you get bored of changing singles all the time, simply switch to the build-in radio. No FM here but 2 old fashioned short-wave (high frequency) bands and a medium-wave (AM) band.

The recordplayer itself is really good with a nice loud sound from the build-in speaker. All in glorious mono of course! Selection for 33 / 45 and even 78 rpm so you can play virtually any record. With it's plastic red appearance it looks like a toy but this is an allrounder that will make you the cool cat on the block!

And for the required quietness at home you can reassure your parents that it also has an ear-phone outlet. It also got that much needed AC powercable connection so you can still listen to your records while you are recharging your batteries for the next beachparty to go!

Akzent portable record player

This time we found another portable turntable, brandname Akzent modelnumber 71, made in the former DDR or as it says on the label in the back: "Made in GDR".

Delphin Werk Pirna
Manufacturer is Delphin Werk Pirna.
More info about this company is found on the Old Time Radio site.

The recordplayer is equipped with a Mono speaker that serves as the player's cover. Speedsettings are 33 rpm and 45 rpm.
Located on the front are the controls for Volume and Tone.

The powersupplycable is nicely hidden behind the slide on the side. Connection of the audiocable is on the other side.

Portable Turntable DOMINO 003

Domino 003 Portable Turntable

A nice flea-market find: Orange colored portable vintage turntable.
The brandname says "Domino" but there's not much info to be found searching the internet. So far found one hit on a different type of vintage portable recordplayer which is also Domino. That model is the Domino II tabletop stereo (model BR-3)and has a turntable, an 8-track player and AM/FM tuner.

This recordplayer is marked "003" and is obviously made for the German-speaking market as indicated by the word "Ton" on the controls.

The turntable has 4 controls: Volume - Ton - Volume - Ton. First one is the Master-volume with a red light as power-indicator. It comes with 3 speed settings: 33 rpm / 45 rpm and 78 rpm.

It is not battery-powered but has a normal 230V powercable.

And as you can see a nice late sixties/ early seventies orange color on the suitcase and the interior! Don't know if it's vintage but it sure looks like it. The suitcase has two old-fashioned locks with keys to prevent it from opening while you carry it.

If I find more info on this portable turntable, I will update this post. In the meantime enjoy the pictures and if you have any info on something similar please let me know.

And yes... it is playing great :-) Loud volume speakers too!!
